Using acetone is simple, but caring for your skin and nails makes all the difference. Hereâs what to do:
Ventilate your space: Open a window or switch on a fan so fumes donât build up.
Keep away from heat: No candles, no smoking, no hot tools nearby. Acetone is highly flammable.
Protect your skin: Apply cuticle oil or a small amount of moisturiser before and after using acetone.
Donât soak too long: Use only as much as you need and avoid prolonged contact. (10â15 minutes maximum.)
If you prefer a gentle, no-acetone method, here's a simple trick:
Trim the nail tip slightly, then just let daily life do the work.
Your showers, hand-washing and normal activities naturally soften the bond between the gel and your nail. Over the next 3-4 days, the polish will loosen and lift on its own - no soaking, no harsh remover.
