How to Take Care of Yourself When Using Acetone
Dear Friends,
Using acetone is simple, but caring for your skin and nails makes all the difference. Here’s what to do:
Ventilate your space: Open a window or switch on a fan so fumes don’t build up.
Keep away from heat: No candles, no smoking, no hot tools nearby. Acetone is highly flammable.
Protect your skin: Apply cuticle oil or a small amount of moisturiser before and after using acetone.
Don’t soak too long: Use only as much as you need and avoid prolonged contact. (10–15 minutes maximum.)
Close the bottle immediately: This reduces fumes and prevents accidental spills.
Wash hands after use: Use mild soap and water to remove residue.
Moisturise right after: Acetone dries the skin and nails quickly, so replenish moisture straight away.
If it gets in your eyes: Rinse with clean water for 10–15 minutes and seek medical help. (Acetone can irritate the eyes, but quick rinsing and medical attention prevent lasting harm.)
Most importantly — protect your eyes.
Thanks. Happy Nailing!
